SoffiWood is the same ASA-capped foam-core PVC as our wall cladding, profiled for soffit. It will not rot, swell or feed insects the way wood does, and it never needs repainting — which counts for more on a soffit than anywhere else on a house, since repainting one means putting a ladder up all over again. Ventilation is part of the design rather than an afterthought: a continuous strip runs the length of the eave along the wall line, and in black against a warm colour it reads as a shadow gap between ceiling and wall rather than holes punched through the boards.
